Miike Snow tonight in Williamsburg. It’s all a bit of a blur, really.
Attended this dynamite show with Lauren and others in Williamsburg last night. It really was smokey as all get out in there and—contrary to many shows—at least 50% of it was not weed. Miike did a great job of weaving together hits from their previous album and new tracks so that the energy stayed high. And boy, oh boy, we danced out legs off. I was really impressed by how they didn’t just play the album versions of their songs. (See, e.g., Neutral Milk Hotel, which I loved, but it was basically just Jeff playing his album on stage.) Some songs were lengthened considerably but still managed to not sound like they were just fucking around. And the lights and lasers were pretty sweet too. All in all, quite the Tuesday evening.
