My friend accidentally swapping out ‘ballet’ for ‘ballot’ when discussing the proposal to make gay marriage legal in Maine in this year’s election. The “ballet initiative” sounds intriguing, though….
But seriously, Maine needs to make gay marriage legal for real this time. In 2009 the Governor and Legislature passed a law making it so. Maine voters actually repealed the law in a 53/47% vote. It’s on the ballot again in November. Isn’t it time that gay people have the same chance to make a horrible mistake as us breeders?
