Old Person Feelings About Pinterest
I just joined, and I can’t get the hang of it. It’s driving me bananas because I can tell that people like it and that it could be useful to organize project ideas and such. But all I see is an overwhelming wall of pictures with little content, and every time I try and explore it I get frustrated with the user interface and close the browser window. I’ll figure it out eventually, but it’s making me feel like an old fuddy duddy.
There’s also a content problem for me because I have rather strong negative feelings about the modern wedding complex, and it does seem to be the case that 50% of the stuff I’m seeing is wedding-related. Now, does that mean that I have to use Pinterest for that purpose? Of course not. But I need to figure out how to edit the content I’m seeing because if I have to be bombarded every day with pictures of “Updo Ideas for the Big Day” or “Dream Engagement Rings,” I am going to put my fist into the monitor.
I’m sure I’ll work it out and be obsessed in 3 weeks, so this is a stupid post. Whatever, I’m old.

Pinterest sets you up to automatically follow people, so you have to spend a little time unfollowing the wedding people and find better people to follow…
